I feel like the reason why
dumbassesConservatives keep thinking we’ll be able to marry dogs as the next obvious step is because they treat their women like pets, sometimes even worse than pets.They think they own their women, they think they own their dogs.
They want their women to fetch sandwiches, they want their dogs to fetch sticks.
They think “Well fuck I treat and love my wife as much as I do my dog so if we open the definition of marriage up even a little I might as well marry the dog!”
It’s sad and pathetic really.
But even still. Even if someone wants to marry their dog or even ice cream, are people going to get up in arms over it? Or are they gonna just scratch their heads and say, “What a weirdo”?
This guy is missing a clear fundamental difference. Consent. If 2 consenting adults want to marry, then what’s to stop them from doing so? Aside from being related, and as I just recently posted, there are still way more states where marrying cousins is legal, but there shouldn’t be anything stopping any consenting adults from marrying. No matter what gender, what race, what religion etc.
it’s like…he’s saying same-sex marriage are…inter-species marriages? but if both are the same-sex, which one is the of the other species? i’m sorry, i tried to process, my mind went some other place..and i’m just really disappointed right now
